Join us for our summer Church School Journey to Egypt! PDF Print E-mail
Egypt Logo for Summer CE

This summer our Church School Children will Journey to Egypt with Joseph and experience the presence of God in their every day life!  Children will learn to recognize God through the beauty of a sunset, a friend, even a laugh!

Our summer Church School program runs a bit differently:  it includes only children ages 3 through 3rd grade.  (Older children, middle and high schoolers are encouraged to worship together with their families, and their programs resume in the fall.)

Children are dismissed from the sanctuary during worship, just after the Children's Message.

Please join us on this exciting summer adventure!

St. John's Youth Report on Mission Trip '09 PDF Print E-mail
Written by Rev. Heather H. Bobbitt

What was your favorite part of Mission trip? I asked the Youth:

“Making new friends!” “Learning to hammer.” “Kenny at night making us all laugh and laugh!” “The bluegrass musicians and the ice cream.” “The singing.” “Meeting those nice people who live there.” “Rock climbing!”  “The swimmin' holes.” “Miss Rose!”

What do you like to think of when you look back at the mission trip? I asked the adult chaperones.

Prayer Group and Prayer Shawl Ministry PDF Print E-mail
The Prayer Shawl Ministry is a growing group of women who get together on Wednesday evenings in the Parlor.  Some people who find that they can't get out on Wednesday nights are knitting and crocheting and bringing in their shawls when they are completed.  Take a look at a few of the shawls.

Shawl ImagesSo, how can you get involved?  Pray for our ministry. Join us on Wednesday night.  The shawls can be made from any yarn that you like to work with and we have both knitting and crocheting patterns.  Beginners can do this.   If you are interested, but don't know how to knit or crochet, come out anyway.  We'll round you up a teacher.

If you don't want to knit or crochet, we can use some help in making the cards.  If you want to make a donation of yarn, you can bring it to church and address it to the attention of Bonnie Lease.  Donations of money can be put in the offering to help pay for supplies.  Just be sure to mark it for the Prayer Shawl Ministry.

If you want to join us or lend a hand in any way, you can contact Bonnie Lease.  Many have received comfort, strength and growth in their faith through this ministry.
